Thanks to a long history of religious tolerance, Adelaide in South Australia is known as the City of Churches. Greater Adelaide is home to a wide range of beautiful houses of religion, many featuring lovely local stone.
For the church of St Andrew’s by the Sea in Glenelg, South Australia, Buckford Illumination Group SA supplied ERCO Site inground linear grazing wallwashers. The grazing luminaires trace the church’s facade in a vivid way, enhancing the textural and architectural elements. The atmospheric light creates a spectacle and emphasises the significance of the building.
ERCO’s site accentuates the tactile qualities of architectural materials and creates high-contrast, structurally appealing effects with light and shadow. Thanks to its asymmetric distribution and lens technology, the grazing light wallwasher generates an extremely uniform beam even when the luminaire is positioned closely to the front of the wall. Site creates both atmospheric light displays and efficient outdoor lighting.
