What has your career looked like so far?
Studied two years of Psychology, decided it wasn’t for me, completed Interior Design and was working in an Architectural firm. I decided to step into the sales arena, (purely for a company car) Lighting was probably the component I knew the least about.

I have since studied Design Science at Sydney University. I have moved through positions in sales, management, design, product, and marketing. I have found lighting to be most rewarding, extremely diverse, and most importantly you meet and work with creative people along the way.

What made you decide to make the move to join Buckford?
It was a brand-new business in the NSW market, and I was looking for a challenge in my career. After meeting all the Directors, I knew the company had a great culture, something that it is very important to me.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?
(When not in Lockdown)

5.30 am onwards: Emails, follow ups, planning.

9.30am: Usually my first appointment. I like to do several in the morning and at least one in the afternoon.

Lunchtime for me is usually more emails, chasing projects and sourcing samples.

When driving around between meetings, I rarely hear a full song on the radio, I seize the drive time to make many phone calls and chasing projects.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?
Receiving that infamous order. I do love to go and see the project completed, very satisfying.

What do you enjoy doing during your spare time?
I love to cook, catch up with family and friends.

What is something funny or surprising about yourself?
I tend to always use humour no matter the situation, I truly think people often underestimate me.

If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Roast chicken with all the trimmings, just like Christmas.

Do you play any instruments?
I used to play the Flute.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Never give up.

What are the values that drive you?
Respect, honesty and hard work.
