As the days shorten throughout winter, the importance of lighting in landscape architecture becomes increasingly significant. Lighting not only enhances the beauty of forms, colours, and scales in our surroundings but also plays essential roles in navigation and safety.

This impact of lighting is showcased in the forecourt of Harry Seidler’s iconic 1 Spring Street tower in Melbourne. Here, Buckford Illumination Group supplied ERCO Tesis uplights in a multifaceted lighting installation that highlights Charles Perry’s Shell Mace sculpture. Additionally, Tesis luminaires define the distinctive triangular bevels of the building’s structural columns. Meanwhile, ERCO Quintessence downlights enhance the building’s exterior, and Quintessence wallwashers illuminate the foyer, creating a welcoming atmosphere and aiding visitors to understand the space.
